Spur is looking for enthusiastic and approachable substitute teachers for KIPP Memphis Schools. This is for the upcoming 2023- 2024 school year. The pay is $150.00 per day. The ideal candidate for the job would enjoy working with students as well as holds a passion for teaching. Substitutes are expected to be punctual and professional and maintain a professional appearance. 

Candidates must always act by the school’s rules and procedures. Position schedules will be based on the school’s standard schedule. However, some districts may offer opportunities outside of the regular school schedule. For this position, candidates must have a bachelor's degree.

Candidates must be able to work on an on-call basis.

The duties and requirements for this position are:

• Implementing lesson plans
• Assigning classwork and homework
• Creating daily reports for the classroom teacher
• Taking attendance by school procedures
• Setting up basic technology equipment to support classroom instructions
• Able to work on an on-call basis
• Performing other miscellaneous duties as assigned requirements.
• Plan towards and provide excellent instruction, making every minute count in your space
• Provide differentiated learning opportunities for every student in whole group and small group instruction
• Reinforce clear expectations for student behavior
• Have experience driving student achievement results, preferably in an urban public or charter school
• Possess outstanding instructional skills
• Demonstrate the use of data to inform instructional planning
• Show mastery and enthusiasm for your content/subject area
• Demonstrate the ability to motivate students and cultivate a culture of achievement
• Hold a belief that all students should be held to high academic standards
• Possess resilience and professionalism
• Maintain a strong sense of personal accountability for student achievement
• Present the ability to be reflective and incorporate feedback and coaching

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree
• Must be able to obtain a State of Tennesse Background Check
• Required Online Training

Compensation

• This position pays $150.00 per day
• Must be available to work 7:30 am to 3:30 pm Monday - Friday when school is in session. (Hours vary per location)
