Spur is looking for enthusiastic and approachable certified substitute teachers for KIPP Memphis Schools. This is for the current school year. The pay is $225 per day. The ideal candidate for the job would enjoy working with students and hold a passion for teaching. Substitutes are expected to be punctual and professional and maintain a professional appearance. Position schedules will be based on the school’s standard schedule.  Candidates must be able to work on an on-call basis. Candidates must have a bachelor's degree.  

The duties and requirements for this position are:

• Implementing lesson plans
• Assigning classwork and homework
• Creating daily reports for the classroom teacher
• Taking attendance by school procedures
• Setting up basic technology equipment to support classroom instructions
• Able to work on an on-call basis
• Performing other miscellaneous duties as assigned requirements.
• Plan towards and provide excellent instruction, making every minute count in your space
• Provide differentiated learning opportunities for every student in whole group and small group instruction
• Reinforce clear expectations for student behavior
• Have experience driving student achievement results, preferably in an urban public or charter school
• Possess outstanding instructional skills
• Demonstrate the use of data to inform instructional planning
• Show mastery and enthusiasm for your content/subject area
• Demonstrate the ability to motivate students and cultivate a culture of achievement
• Hold a belief that all students should be held to high academic standards
• Possess resilience and professionalism
• Maintain a strong sense of personal accountability for student achievement
• Present the ability to be reflective and incorporate feedback and coaching

Qualifications

• Must have a bachelor's degree
• Must be able to obtain a State of Tennesse Background Check
• Must be a Certified Teacher with the State of TN.
• Required Online Training

Compensation

• This position pays $225.00 per day
• Must be available to work 7:30 am to 3:30 pm Monday - Friday when school is in session. (Hours vary per location)
