Spur, a digital staffing agency, seeks a hard-working and punctual Special Education Aide with Marion County. We are looking for candidates who have a passion for education and strive to advocate for students.

The ideal candidate will be able to work efficiently and effectively in a fast-paced environment, adhering to the rules and guidelines set by the school and Spur. The primary responsibilities of this position are working alongside teachers and staff in their day-to-day activities with special needs students. Candidates are expected always to represent the school and program positively and professionally. Candidates must wear business casual clothing. Duties expected of this position are:

• Must have prior experience working alongside children, individually or in a group setting.
• Must be able to lift to 45 lbs.
• Must be able to assist with basic grade school-level class work.
• Prior knowledge of an IEP is favorable.
• They may be expected to escort or walk students to different activities within the school.
• Be able to adapt to different and changing behaviors.
• Must be open to helping new students with different needs as they may arise.
• Must be able to stand for long periods.
  
  

Qualifications

• Must be able to obtain a State of Alabama Background check ($48.15)
• Required online training
• One of the following - Successful completion of at least 48 credit hours of college/university work or an associate degree or higher, or successful completion of 3 ACT workkeys assessment
