Spur, a digital staffing agency, seeks a hard-working and punctual In-School Suspension Paraprofessional for Sheffield City Schools.

The ideal candidate will be able to work efficiently and effectively in a fast-paced environment, adhering to the rules and guidelines set by the school and Spur. The primary responsibilities of this position are working alongside staff in their day-to-day activities with special needs students. Candidates are always expected to represent the school and program positively and professionally. Candidates must wear business casual clothing. Duties expected of this position are:

      Maintain a clean and orderly environment for students.

Closely follow the discipline plan and procedures developed for the ISS Program.

Assist students in an efficient, quiet manner.

Implement the lesson plans provided by the classroom teacher when helping students.

Assist in assessing student progress as directed by the classroom teacher, including proctoring the administration of tests and maintaining confidential records.

Communicate effectively with the staff members, students, parents, administrators, and other contact persons using tact and good judgment

Follow attendance, punctuality, and proper dress rules.

Ensure adherence to good safety standards

Maintain confidentiality regarding school/workplace matters.

Model and maintain high ethical standards.

Demonstrate initiative in the performance of assigned responsibilities.

Participate successfully in the training programs offered to increase skill and proficiency related to assignments.

Demonstrate support for the school system and its goals and priorities.

Prepare all required reports and maintain all appropriate records.

Performs other duties as assigned

Qualifications

• Must obtain a State of Alabama Background Check 
• At least 48 credit hours from college/university.
• Must be able to complete MCS Training (Training offered at no cost by Spur Training Manager)
• Required Online Training
• Must have at least one year of experience working with children with special needs

Compensation

• This position pays $15.19-16.30 per hour, depending on your years of experience.
• Job Hours: 7:15 am - 3:30 pm Monday - Friday when school is in session. (Hours vary per location)
