Spur, a digital staffing agency, seeks a hard-working and punctual Pre-K Auxillary Teacher in Sheffield City Schools.
The ideal candidate will be able to work efficiently and effectively in a fast-paced environment, adhering to the rules and guidelines set by the school and Spur. The primary responsibilities of this position are working alongside teachers and staff in their day-to-day activities with special needs students. Candidates are always expected to represent the school and program positively and professionally. Candidates must wear business casual clothing. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions of this job.
Duties expected of this position are:
- Must have prior experience working alongside children, individually or in a group setting.
- Ability to follow a medical plan.
- Physical management might be necessary. Must be CPI trained or willing to be CPI trained and annually update CPI certification.
- Physical ability to lift, push, and pull 65 pounds regularly.
- It may require the ability of bathroom students.
- Ability to communicate effectively and work cooperatively with students, staff members,parents and community.
- Ability to communicate effectively and work cooperatively with students, staff members,parents and the community.
- Minimum of one (1) year of successful experience as a teacher paraprofessional in a special education classroom, daycare training program, or advanced training in a community college or degree-granting institution whose special education instruction and training program has been approved by the state.
- Must be able to assist with primary grade school-level classwork.
- Prior knowledge of an IEP is favorable.
- May be expected to escort or walk students to different activities within the school.
- Be able to adapt to different and changing behaviors.
- Provide services to students with disabilities as needed.

Qualifications
- Must obtain a State of Alabama Background Check ($48.00)
- At least 48 credit hours from college/university.
- Must be able to complete MCS Training (Training offered at no cost by Spur Training Manager)
- Required Online Training
- Must have at least one year of experience working with children with special needs
Compensation
- This position pays $15.19-16.30 per hour, depending on your years of experience.
- Job Hours: 7:15 am - 3:30 pm Monday - Friday when school is in session. (Hours vary per location)
