The ideal candidate for the job enjoys working with students as well as holds a passion for teaching. The primary responsibilities of this position are to serve as the classroom teacher implementing lesson plans, managing student behavior, and supervising students to maintain a safe and orderly environment. Substitutes are expected to be punctual and professional as well as maintain a professional appearance. Candidates must always act in accordance with the school’s guidelines and procedures. Positions schedules will be based on the school’s standard schedule. Candidates must be able to work on an on-call basis.

Duties:

• •Implementing lesson plans
• Assigning classwork and homework
• Maintaining classroom control and discipline
• Creating daily reports for the classroom teacher
• Taking attendance in accordance with school procedures
• Setting up basic technology equipment to support classroom instructions
• Able to work on on-call basis
• Prior related experience working with children
• The ability to lift heavy objects up to 40 lbs.
• Performing other miscellaneous duties as assigned requirements

Minimum Qualifications:

• Must be 21 years of age
• High School diploma or GED
• Able to pass a FieldPrint background check ( $50.00 one time fee)
• Ability to comply with written and/or oral instructions
• Proficiency in maintaining classroom management and maintain emotional control under stress

Preferred Qualifications:

• Associates or Bachelors Degree
• Teaching certificate or experience in the field of education

Compensation

• This position pays $13.00 per hour
• Position schedule will be based on the school’s standard schedule
